Monday

Water Logged

What a fun and exhausting Memorial Day weekend.
Our Holiday World 2010 adventure has came to an end. Our visit this year consisted of a few extra family members and friends. 26 of us to be exact. We have rode roller coasters, experienced water slides, took on the giant waves in the wave pool and everything in between. Most everyone brought home a sunburn souvenir. We have nothing but good reviews for Holiday World and Splashin' Safari. Where else can you go at such a great price and get free unlimited soft drinks all day long.
After searching for a good deal on a hotel with a pool, everyone was too water logged and tired to even go swimming (which was my prediction from the beginning).
I only caught a few photos of today's adventure.

Wednesday

I Found It!

I have been busy this week...I really have. But, for some reason, I cant seem to get anything accomplished.
I start one project and need something from another room and all of a sudden Attention Deficit Disorder kicks in. So I begin to clear the distraction and something else interrupts me.
During one of my many projects this week, I somehow ended up in the attic looking for a box to store an old mobile phone back in its original packaging. That is due to O.C.D. (another disorder that I suffer from).
Anyway, so while in the attic looking for the mobile phone box, I somehow ended up organizing 2 big boxes full of little boxes.
All of a sudden I spotted it...Devin's baby book. I have been looking everywhere for that. I noticed it was missing a few months ago and could not figure out where in the world it could be. I don't know how it made it all the way to the attic, but I was glad to see it. I spent another 20 minutes just sitting there reminiscing as I read about  Devin's cute little toddler moments. I miss his cute little Winnie the Pooh decorations in his room and all of his cute little expressions.
So, although my "to do" list has not a single item checked off this week, it was all worth finding Devin's Winnie the Pooh baby book and taking a stroll down memory lane.
Thank you Lord for leading me to it.

My little Devin...He was always into something.
I can't believe that tomorrow is his last day of junior high. Where does the time go?
It doesn't seem right to think that my Devin will be a high school freshman

Monday

Saturday Shuffle

I meant to post this yesterday, but I was just too tired.
Saturday morning our feet hit the floor running.  We had a few stops to make and errands to run before graduation started. We were so rushed that we almost forgot to stop by the bank to get the cash to go in the graduation cards...and I must say that was $150 well spent.
Graduation lasted about 2 and a half hours since the class had 560 graduates. We stayed afterwords to get pictures made with Christopher, but my stinkin' battery died on my camera.
Immediately after graduation, we headed straight to Tiffany's wedding. Well, we actually stopped by to pick up mom then went straight to the wedding. I was volunteered to do the videograghy so my apologies go out to Tiffany and Kendal in advance for how ever that tape turned out. I guess it is a good thing that it was only a 10 minute wedding. Everyone that views that movie will  have a headache by then  from all the movement back and forth down the isle and the constant zooming in and out.
The reception was fun and the music covered about every genre so everyone got to hear a little something from their own personal music style.
The reception ended with just enough time for us to take my mom back home and get to Christopher's graduation party at 5pm. Sorry, no photos from the party. Stroker and I had to leave for about two hours. The kids wanted to stay so we let 'em hang out with the family for a while. We were back by 10:30 and for some reason didn't head home till 1:00 am.
Sunday we rested most of the day, but decided to go out for ice cream at Marble Slab. We rode around for a bit then ended up back at Bucket and Jennifer's house planning a get away weekend with the Family.

Friday

Friday's Five

1. Went for my "hot stone massage today" (thank you Devin, Brookelynn & Stroker), which was terrific! Sooo relaxing. After words, I went by to have some wax work done. My plan was to get a manicure and pedicure too, but before we knew it, it was time for the kids to get out of school.
2. Stroker opted for a visit to the chiropractor today instead of a massage.
3. Dinner was at Zaxby's tonight.
4. Tomorrow is going to be a hectic day...Christopher's graduation at 10 am, followed by Tiffany's wedding at 2pm and her reception to immediately follow. (I am also in charge of videography). We will finish the day with a graduation celebration cookout at Bucket's house for Christopher.
5. Sunday we hope to rest.

Tuesday

Shopping Amnesia

We were up by 6am with our agenda in hand. Lots to do today. We got a few things accomplished. Including a $200 Lowe's shopping spree for a few items on our list. After only eight years at this house, we finally got a light to go in the shed (now to  install it). We also bought an air compressor for those pesky flats on the hand truck. The air compressor we bought even has a pressure gauge built in and it shuts off automatically so it doesn't over inflate (and pop) the tire. That would have came in handy a couple of months ago (LOL).
Brooke just had to have the strawberry planting kit, so we should have home grown strawberry's in a few weeks. We purchased a few other things too, but I don't remember what they were. Funny how you can spend a handful of money and then not recall what you bought. I think the shock at the cash register causes me to suffer from "post shopping amnesia", but that's just my theory.
Anyway, Darlene and her computer came by to visit around noon so we all went to lunch together at El Tapatio. The chips, by the way, were back to normal (no longer stale).  Darlene left her computer for me to format and reload Windows.
Stroker and I volunteered our services to "Heart of the Cumberland" this afternoon, but the kids had to leave early because a fine mist of rain began to fall...just our luck.
I just finished the computer format and reinstallation, so I think I will call it a day.

Monday

Weekend Review

The last few days have consisted of scattered showers, but the rain doesn't slow us down. Saturday, we went to White County and picked up my mom so she could spend some time with us and get out of the house for a while. She spent a good six hours with us before we dropped her back off at home at 4pm. We had a few more stops to make and didn't get home till 8:30 in the rain. I started working on the design for Tiffany's Wedding Keepsake's and got a few of them complete.
Sunday was rain...sunshine...rain...sunshine...rain...
you get the picture. It was also mom's birthday, so Stroker, Devin, Brookelynn and I met my mom, my sister, my niece, my great nephew and my great niece at Nick's for lunch/dinner. It's moms favorite spot for Lobster. After we ate, everyone came to our house for cake and ice cream (and to sing "Happy Birthday" to mom).
During one of the sunny spells that day, Stacia, Brookelynn, and I went over to check out the Kid's Expo. Stacia won a car seat full of baby supplies within the first five minutes we were there. We think it is because Brookelynn touched the "lucky" ticket when we registered at the door. Brookelynn seems to have the lucky touch these days.
This morning, after getting the kids to school, the weather had to dump one more down pour of rain on us, then Stroker and I had breakfast at The Cracker Barrel. The food was great but the service wasn't.  I think our server thought that once she delivered the meal she was done. We got a few chores accomplished around the house and we went to Brooke's school to watch the kids get sprayed by the fire truck.  We had so much fun that we stayed the remainder of the day. Kelsey came home with Brooke and sprayed each other with the water hose. We also had hamburgers and hotdogs off the grill...yum.
We just left the hospital from visiting Stroker's uncle Charles. He had a hip replacement this morning. He seems to be doing well.

Friday

Bieber Fever

After Brookelynn was asleep last night I made a couple of J.B. tees (since it seems that we are never going to have the time to go shopping for one). I planned ahead and made two so that she could give her friend Kelsey one, but just as I predicted...she couldn't stand the thought of giving one of them up.
Jett hung out with us for a couple of hours today. We played games, played outside and even got "Happy Meals" from McDonald's. He seemed to have a good time. What do you think?

Tuesday

Stale Chips

Had a new experience tonight. We went to El Tapatio for dinner (...no that was not the new experience). The chips were stale. Hhhhmmmm, whats up with that?
We all know that El Tapatio is known for reserving uneaten chips, but at least they are usually still fresh. Well, everything else was good.
I also got a flowers potted today...they have only been waiting a week for me to place them in their permanent home.

Monday

Full Throttle

Hhhhmmm....Where should I start?
Brookelynn's lip healed over the weekend from her "surgery" (if you can call it that) on Thursday. The dentist called today to let me know that the lab results were good. No sign of cancer or anything else that we should worry about.
Friday, Stroker and I were in White County by 8:15. We had a busy day that day. Darlene and I worked at the fellowship hall at her church for a few hours too (while mom and Stroker supervised). Stroker had NO idea what he was in for when we left out for the day Friday morning...hehehe :)
Darlene and I  got some of the decorations for Tiffany's shower placed, but still had quite a bit left to do on Saturday. Stroker and I had to be back in town by 2:30 to get the kids picked up from school. I also had to get ingredients for the pasta salad so that I could stay up and prepare it for the Bridal Shower. Bedtime for me was around 11pm.
Friday evening, we were at a lady's house who happened to have the cutest little play house for her little girl, so I had to take a photo. It was complete with her own wheel barrel, Adirondack chair and window flower box...adorable.

Saturday was an even busier day. I was up at 7am. starting laundry, getting my bath, trying to get Devin out of the bed etc. etc. etc. By 8:30, I had 2 loads of laundry complete, had Devin at the Barber Shop and was at Brookelynn's friend Kelsey's house picking her up from their sleepover.  By noon we had already drove to Alpine and back. By 1pm Brookelynn and I were back in White County setting up for the shower...and the shower began at 2pm

The shower went great. Tiffany left with a trunk load of new household items. After the shower, we paid a visit to Dale Hollow. The water is still very high (and the dam is closed).
Devin standing at the edge of the water that is still above the dock.
That is a submerged dock behind Brookelynn
Stroker also waxed the truck this week...here is a photo while it is still clean
We ended Saturday night at Ruby Tuesday's.
Sunday was Mother's Day. It began with a gift card for a hot stone massage and a card from the kids and a card from Stroker.  I still had things to get finished around the house, but housework will always be here. We loaded up and went to my moms instead. We were there till about 3:30. Mike came down and Darlene came over so we ordered pizza. I know what your thinking..."What a Mothers Day lunch?!?", but it was a nice change seeing as how O'Charley's, Logan's, Olive Garden, Chili's, El Tapatio and Cheddar's are our usual dinner spots.
We also stopped by my brothers to see his horse before we went to Stroker's moms house for the evening.
We made it home on Sunday in time for baths and bed.
