Monday

Great American Eclipse

The media has talked about it for months, the astronomers have named this to be one of the best viewing sites and the Nation has counted down the days until today...The Great American Eclipse was today, Monday, August 21, 2017  We were in the path of Totality.
Everyone will agree, it was quite a show. Businesses closed early and schools were cancelled because this was the event of a lifetime. We watched it from home and had as good a seat as anybody.

Sunday

Mid Month Mundane

Sunday, August 13, 2017 was a great day because I actually had time to squeeze in a nap after church and lunch at Helen's Restaurant.
I also had a hair appointment at 4:30. πŸ’‡
Monday was an expensive day. I paid the car insurance and we had dinner at Craw Daddy's with Georgi and Mary.
Tuesday's are the days that our employees work, which happens to mean it is the day that I clean house.
Wednesdays are church days, which means it is also Cracker Barrel night.
Thursday, August 17, 2017 was a break from the monotony. I attended a women's conference at a church here in town where they hosted Jill Bricoe.

It was sooo good. What a focused lady she is. Often we lose sight of the real purpose. What a refreshing speech she gave.
We had dinner with my sister and brother-in-law Friday night at Shear Delights.
Afterwords, he took us on a tour of his new garage / workshop / apartment / whatever else with fit in there.
Heather, Brooke and I toured the Parade of Homes on Saturday, August 19th.
It took us all day, but there were some beautiful houses. We also stopped at a Amish store and shopped around.
After church on Sunday, we bought a generator. Who knows if we will every use it.

Saturday

August Begins

School has officially began for the 2017-18 sophomore year for Brooke.
Tuesday, August 1, 2017 was the first day.
There was a trade show for people in our line of business on Tuesday also.
We attended, networked with other companies, got some new product ideas, talked to a payroll company and had lunch at Rock Bottom.
On Wednesday, August 2nd, I had lunch with Dr. Nash.
We had church Wednesday evening

followed by the usual dinner at Cracker Barrel of course.
There was a beautiful rainbow in the sky Thursday, August 3rd.
We had dinner at the Farmhouse in Byrdstown on Friday, August 4, 2017.
The food was really good and it was buffet style.
Saturday involved several stops, one of them being the Whistle Stop in Baxter for  lunch. πŸ˜‹
We also enjoyed a movie night Saturday night.
Sunday, August 6th was jam packed...
We went to church (Duh)
Had lunch at Olive Garden
Went by Kevin's for a visit
Went by Daddy's for a visit
He showed us his new cap
Went to visit Tiffany and meet baby Oakley. πŸ‘Ά
and made a quick stop by Maleigha's on the way back to Cookeville. πŸ‘‹
Devin and Brooke had dentist appointments on Monday, August 8, 2017 πŸ™Š
I made a home cooked meal.
I had a dentist appoint on Tuesday, August 9 for my crowning ceremony. πŸ‘‘
We finally decided to hire help and it was there first day on Tuesday.
It freed up my time to clean the house πŸ˜„ and that makes me happy.
Wednesday again...you know what that means.
Church and Cracker Barrel.
Oh yeah!...Matasia was on the front page of the paper this week for the horse show.
We don't go to the fair these days since the kids are older. I don't miss the fair days one bit.
We heard the bad news that Brooke's friend Mary's dad died on Thursday, August 10. 😒
We went to Mary and Georgi's and hung out with them for a while on Thursday night.
The guy that I hired to mow moms yard is still doing a good job. He mows every other Thursday. Every time that he texts me that he mowed, I always think of how mom would have loved her fresh manicured yard.
Oh how I miss my momma. I know exactly how Mary feels tonight.
I still have my daddy though, I'm not an orphan just yet.
Thank you God for that.
As a matter of fact, Daddy, Phyllis, Darlene and Gary came to dinner with us, the Paramore's and the Robert's Friday night at the Doodle.
We traveled to Baxter, Monterey and back  to Cookeville on Saturday, August 12, 2017 and finished the night with dinner at Anchor Down

Monday

Sweet Summertime

We went to Chili's for lunch after church on Sunday, July 9, 2017. We had to set up at Tech on Monday, July 10th. I also talked to the insurance company about moms house on Monday. We have really got to get going on finalizing everything.
I went to speak to attorney on Tuesday, July 11th to get some of the paperwork done. We also had to set up at a church on Tuesday.
We had water play after our lesson at church on Wednesday, July 12.
The kids absolutely love it.
Although some of us were soaked, we went to dinner at Cracker Barrell after church.
It was a pretty busy week for set ups because we had another set up in Monterey on Thursday, July 13. Erin had told me a while back that she knew someone thinking of going into business. I told her to pass my name along if she is interested.
Erin gave her my number on Friday. Stroker and I went by the funeral home for Andrew Stamps visitation. We met up with the Paramore's and the Robert's for dinner at the Dipsy Doodle.
We traveled to Smithville and Sparta on Saturday, July 15th after we stopped at IHOP for breakfast.
We really run across some beautiful scenery during our travels. 😍
We were back in Smithville after church on Sunday, July 16 and then back to Sparta.
It was too hot 😎πŸ”₯for patio sitting on Monday. We went to Logan's and had dinner in the air conditioning.
Jett, Dash and Grey came over for a little while on Tuesday, July18th.  We also met up some people for business at Subway.
It was zoo night at church on Wednesday, July 19, 2017.  It was a very interesting afternoon. We had a petting zoo, ice cream, and watermelon. Summertime is so sweeeet πŸ‰πŸ¦
As usual, we followed up church with dinner at the Cracker Barrel.
Brooke, Maleigha, Mackenzie and I went on a back to school shopping trip on Thursday, July 20, 2017.  We spent the entire day hopping from store to store.
Hard to believe it is time for school already. 😲

Friday, July 21st kicked off our weekend. We had two set ups.
We had a lot of set ups for Saturday, July 22, 2017.
I went with daddy to decoration in Jackson County on Sunday, July 23, 2017.
I love the way this family coordinates all the headstones.

He took us to lunch at Golden Corral afterwords.
We had a set up for a back to school bash on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 before we headed to church.
Maleigha came over for a couple of hours on Thursday, July 27th to go over Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.  She brought pizza too.
It was sooo rainy on Friday, July 28th, but the sun was back out and it was 84℉ on Saturday July 29, 2017. Just in time for our set ups and family reunion which includes fish fry's and all that stuff.
It was my day to serve breakfast at church on Sunday, July 30th, so I got up a little early. We also had family reunion dinner on Sunday, which coaxed Devin out of the house.
The first day of school (2 hour day) was Monday, July 31, 2017. I cooked dinner at home that day and Georgi came by for a visit.
That wraps up another July. It's okay though. I don't feel like it slipped away this time.

Saturday

"Hotter than the 4th of July"

Saturday, July 1, 2017 was a wet one, and I'm not talking about weather. It was a beautiful day and everyone wanted WATER.
Sunday, July 2nd was sunny and hot too. We went to church, had lunch at the American Diner and hit the road right after. During our travels, we seen some people on kayaks taking advantage of a beautiful day. We visited daddy for a bit and watched the fireworks at Bondecroft.
We had several units to clean and dry on Monday, July 3rd. We watched fireworks Monday night at the Catfish farm with the Paramore's. Treasure came along with Brooke to watch too.
My July 4, 2017 started off productive. I got the kitchen cleaned and the bathrooms cleaned before heading to Mildreds for a cook-out.  We hung out at her house most of the day while the little kids swam and chased each other around the yard.
At nighfall, we all met up at Steven's Street to tailgate and watch the Cookeville fireworks.
We hung around the house on Wednesday, July 5th until time for church. We got some pretty heavy rainfall and thunder storms too.
We had a severe flash flood that took someones life at Cummins Falls.
Cummins Falls usually looks like this
But the rain fell so fast and so heavy today that it turned into this in minutes and swept people away in the current.
How terrifying that must have been.
Thank the Lord, my family was home watching it from the windows.
We had a fellowship meal that night and then went to Sonic for ice cream after church.
Thursday, July 6th was awesome. It was the Summer Lights Tour Concert at Ascend. The weather was calling for horrible storms that night, but yet again, God showed his merciful powers and held back the rain. There were some severe thunderstorms that hit all around the Nashville area, but all we seen were a few sprinkles. I'm telling you, when you start paying attention, you will see God's hand in EVERYTHING.

I took a nice little drive to Hickman on Friday. I was alone, had the radio up and the windows down. Sometimes, it feels so good to take a drive and clear your head.
Kevin called Friday night and talked for over an hour. He is so glad to be home. I bet he can't wait to sleep in his own bed.
Saturday, July 8, 2017 was another full scheduled day. (Thank you God). We also took time to visit Mary for a while.

The Rest of June 2017

My mother in law made dinner for us on Monday, June 19, 2017.   I love a good home cooked meal. Especially when it is my mother in laws.
We got a slide ready to ship on Tuesday, June 20th and had dinner at Logan's.
I got our grocery shopping done and put away.
We had 24 in our class Wednesday evening and tropical storm Cindy arrived on Thursday, June 22.
Friday, June 23, 2017 was Dr. Nash's retirement party.  We decorated, made food, took photo's and videos.

It was a long week, so Saturday evening, we relaxed with dinner at Hurricane Marina with my Sister and Gary.
After Church on Sunday, June 25, 2017 we had lunch at Rib City with friends. We had a teacher meeting at church Sunday evening and met up at Sonic afterwords for treats.
Some ladies and I met up for lunch at Longhorn's on Monday, June 26.  I love to get together with friends and talk about all the going and doing that everybody stays busy with. It feels good to slow down, enjoy a meal and great company.
I also enjoy a good dinner on the patio, which is what we had Monday evening.
Brooke and I had lunch at the Clark House with Dr. Nash on Wednesday.
I also had a hair appointment on Wednesday and we went to church.
We tried to slow down a little on Thursday, June 29, 2017 so I cooked dinner at home and relaxed on the patio of course.
Friday, June 30, 2017 was Dr. Nash's final day to work.  I hope she enjoys her retirement. She sure gave her job 100%.
We met up with the Paramore's and Robert's for dinner at the Rose Garden Friday Night. That spot has really grown on my top 5 restaurants list.
