Post 750

Not really sure how many hours I have invested on this blog (this boring blog), but I am glad that I spent every minute creating it.
Looking back on all the little things we have experienced over the past seven years brings me joy.
Maybe not joy for you to read...but definite joy for this momma who barely finds time to blink throughout each day.
Yet, I have this journal to remind me that every single day has had purpose.
So here I am...post 750.

We picked up our dunk tank from storage on Thursday, May 26 since the summer season has arrived. It's officially time for water play.
I took mom to the eye doctor on Friday, May 27
Her eye sight hasn't worsened any, which is good news.
We woke up Saturday morning, May 28 to find that our Bradford Pear tree had split again. The good thing about living in the city limits, is that we just had to call the city and have them come cut the part that broke.  Of course the person "on call" wasn't too excited about cutting tree limbs at 8am on a Saturday.

We also had our first dunk tank rental on Saturday.  Summertime sure is fun, but it sure gets busy sometimes.

On Sunday, May 29, I took Brooke to Murfreesboro to shop after church. Apparently, she still doesnt have enough summer clothes.
We spent most of the day in Murfreesboro, but made it back in time for the church Memorial Day picnic.
We had a fun day on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30. Brad had everyone over for a Memorial Day cook out. I'm soooo glad that we take holiday's off. It's hard to get such a large number of family members together these days. Having holiday's off was a great decision.

I had lunch with my good friend Maleigha on Tuesday, May 31 at Yanni's. I'm glad we make time to get together and catch up on each others lives these days.
After lunch, I had to get home and pack because I am last minute like that. By sunset, we were loaded up and headed to Washington. Thank goodness I didn't have to drive, or even stay awake for the drive. I was looking forward to waking up in DC.

Wednesday

Fire Up the Grill

Sunday, May 22 began just like any other Sunday. Church first, then we went to Gainesboro, Monterey and Sparta. Since we were so busy after church, we met our church group at Sonic for dinner.
We had dinner off the fire pit on Monday, May 23
Tuesday, May 24, Stroker cooked pork chops on the grill. I went for a massage on Tuesday also.
We went by Lowe's on Wednesday, May 25 to talk about cabinets.
Stroker got new tires on his truck.

We  also went to church followed by our usual Wednesday night Cracker Barrel trip.

Saturday

Schools Out...School's Out

Saturday, May 14 was a twelve hour day for us. It began and ended at 9:00.
We only found time for lunch at Ruby Tuesday's.
Other than that, we were keeping the roads hot.
We do see some majestic views on our travels.
After church on Sunday, May 15, we had lunch with our church group at Chili's.  Have I ever written about what a blessing our church group has been in our lives. Remind me to blog about it someday.
What a blessing.
After lunch, we went by Red Lobster and picked up lobster tail to take to mom for her birthday.
We went back to moms on Monday, May 16 for cake and ice cream.
Several of us went to lunch at Paula's on Tuesday, May 17 for Jo's surprise baby shower.  I attended a meeting on our upcoming Washington trip Tuesday evening.
We had dinner at the Whistle Stop before church on Wednesday, May 18
By Friday, May 20, we were celebrating another year of school being over.
It went faster than all the rest of course.
It just keeps getting faster. I will admit, every year, on the last day of school, I still get excited from the feeling of nostalgia.
I don't think we ever forget how great it felt on the last day of school.
Brooke went to Ella's Friday night for a year end party.
Not only the last day of school, but the last day of middle school.  My oh my.
Saturday, May 21 turned cold again. We had lunch at Cheddar's.

Friday

Holiday's and Dances

Sunday, May 8 began with breakfast at IHOP with my mother-in-law and brother-in-law before heading to church. It was Mother's Day which meant the day would be spent traveling and visiting.
We took mom a new pair of Nike's after church. She really liked them. She always talks about her old ones, so I figured it was time for a new pair. Too bad her foot is too swelled to wear them right now.
Back at home, Stroker got me an anti-gravity chair and cooked on the grill for dinner.
I could not have asked for a better mothers day.
One last thing though... I had a hair appointment. ON MOTHERS DAY.
We went to Overton County first thing Monday morning, May 9. I shopped at TJ Maxx and went to Sparta. We had dinner at Fiesta Cancun with Mary and Georgi.
On Tuesday, May 10, American Home Design came to give us an estimate on a pergola for the patio.  I also took Brooke shoe shopping to get shoes for the 8th grade formal dance.
We got lots of rain on Wednesday, May 11. We went to church and Cracker Barrel in the middle of a down pour.
Brooke went for her nail appointment on Thursday, May 12. She is almost ready for the upcoming dance.
These expenses are wearing on me.
We had dinner at the Waffle House.
Friday, May 13 was the big day! It was the day of the Eighth Grade Formal.
Those freckles are my fav.

Saturday

Hello May 2016

I started off the first day of May 2016 with breakfast duty at church, followed by sound booth duty at church.
Reminds me of Colossians 3:23

We also made a trip to Gainesboro on Sunday.
On Monday, May 2, I stayed late at the BoE and worked on the consolidated app.  It is one of my least favorite things to do, but I got it done once again.
I took mom to the doctor on Tuesday, May 3 to have them look at her swollen leg and foot. It is not getting any better on its own. They wrapped it and told her to keep it elevated, but that is like telling a child not to eat candy.
We stopped to pick up lunch on the way back home from the doctor.
I swept and mopped her kitchen while I was at her house.
I cancelled moms 1:30 appointment for the orthopedic on Wednesday, May 4 because I have a feeling that is part of the reason her leg is swelling. The injections he gives may be creating a reaction.
I visited mom for a while and talked to Kevin for bit. He moved in with mom today.
I went for my own blood work on Thursday, May 5.

Friday, May 6 was a day for good restaurants. I had dinner with some of my colleagues at 7 Senses (YUM)
and had dinner at Olive Garden with our church group.

We also made another trip to Sparta (4th this week).
I worked on Mail Chimp for a while too.
Saturday, May 7 was in full swing.  Now that the weather is warming up. Our schedule is booking up. We drove to Silver Point, Algood, Cookeville, Sparta, and Baxter twice.
