Sunday

Patio Sittin'

I tried to start the week off with a home cooked meal on Monday, June 123, 2017.
I cooked a chicken in the crock pot. We also installed a bigger TV (42") on the patio since we hang out there so much.
Tuesday, June 13, 2017 was Devin's last day at FedEx. Can't believe he has been there almost three years and now it's over.  I know he will not miss the cold wintry mornings or getting up at 4:30 am, but I know he will miss those paychecks.
Stroker cooked on the grill Tuesday evening.  That is one of my favorite dinners.  There is nothing like getting to stay home for dinner and having someone else cook it for you.

Our class at church Wednesday, June 14, 2017 was on the Ten Commandments.  Everybody seemed to remember the order a lot better than I thought they would.
We have a great class on Wednesday nights. We're loud, we're random, and we are growing in Christ together...and that's what really matters.
Stroker grilled out for the second time in a week on Thursday, June 15. He grilled steaks this time. YUM!
Kimba loves the patio cover too. She thinks we built her a bedroom.
We went to Sparta on Friday, June 16, 2017. Bondecroft actually, then dad's, then dinner at Shear delights.
Paradise's Birthday party was Saturday, June 17, 2017. We had took her the slip-n-slide.  She and her friends had a blast. I can't believe how quickly she is growing up.
I got up early Sunday, June 19, because I had to serve breakfast at church.  After church, we had lunch at Longhorns with the Paramore's. I visited daddy again and we had dinner at Cheddars, just in time to wrap up the weekend.

Monday

The Great Outdoors

The thing about vacations is that we always come back exhausted.  This time was no different. On Monday, June 2, 2017 Stroker watched a Nashville Preds game on the patio and relaxed for a little while.  I went for  a massage on Tuesday, June 6. That always helps.  Georgi and Steve borrowed our lawn mower this week.  Stoker and I relaxed on the patio a little on Tuesday too. It is our favorite place to chill this time of year.
I gave Devin a hair cut on Wednesday, before church. We had to deliver the obstacle course on Thursday.
We had a date night scheduled at the Salt Box Inn on Friday, June 9, but we didn't go. Apparently Stroker thought there was some kind of catch to it, and he had a meltdown about going. I bet it would have been fun though. I drove by and took a peek, but that was as close as I got to date night.
We had several rentals on Saturday, June 10. Brooke and I ended up grocery shopping at 11 pm that night.
Brooke had the official unavailing of the new patio extension that she worked on all week. It turned out awesome 😍

Sunday, June 11, after church, Brooke, Heather and I hiked up to the window cliffs. It was beautiful, but I was a little nervous at the top. I wore my Chacco's which worked out well until I caught my toe on a rock in one of the nine creeks that we had to cross.

Saturday

Charleston South Carolina

Sunday was a big clean up day for Cookeville from the storm the evening before.  People all over town were cutting trees that had fallen and picking up debris from their property. We went to church Sunday morning and then had a rental. We drove around Cookeville and viewed some of the storms damage.
Thank goodness we did not have a lot of damage from this storm. It would have hindered us from leaving on our trip Monday morning.  We spent Sunday evening packing our bags.  Treasure came to our house to spend the night since we were leaving out so early Monday.
Just before 1 am Monday, May 29, 2017 Devin came into our room complaining of shortness of breath.  I knew exactly what that meant. An anxiety attack was setting in. He has probably been thinking about our trip and his job and mama and all the things that he worries about.  I got out of bed and went to sit with him for a few minutes to try to help him through it, but he couldn't relax as much as he needed to. I told him to lay down and try to get some rest. Thankfully, he has Mondays off.
Darlene and Gary arrived around 2 am and we all set out for Charleston, S.C.
We stopped for breakfast around 6 am and Devin called. He still wasn't feeling good.  I asked him to eat something to see if that would help and to lay back down for a while.
We arrived at Charleston around 10 am and started exploring the city.  We toured the Magnolia Plantation which took a few hours

and we had dinner reservations at Poogans Porch.
I got another call from Devin as we were heading in to dinner. He said he felt worse.
I told him that if he gets to the point that he needs to see a doctor, to call granny and she would take him. He said he would just wait.
We went back to our house (Charleston House) after dinner and relaxed for a while. Later we took a walk to get some ice cream.

Our house had a great location. We walked everywhere during the rest of our trip.
We went by the theater where Noah and Allie went in "The Notebook".
We actually seen several "Notebook" spots while in Charleston.
check out these beautiful window boxes 😍
The Battery, Charleston SC
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
White Point Garden
The Pineapple Fountain
We walked to the Battery, Rainbow Row, and shopping.
The only time we had to drive, was when we went to explore the beaches.
All 3 beaches that we visited had a different vibe.

Isle of Palms (next 4 photos)

Folly Beach ↓

We had dinner at the Boat House one night
We seen the pineapple fountain, went to the Market, seen the Citadel and so much more.
We seen Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, Sullivans' Island
We had a great week.
Devin finally let his granny take him to the doctor Monday night for anxiety medicine. After that, he was fine.
We detoured a little on the way home and stopped by the Biltmore Estate again.
