Saturday

The Simple Life

This week has flown by. I can't believe it is Saturday already. We are going on a short road trip today to look at the fall scenery since the weather is so nice. Enjoying the simple things in life.
Tomorrow I plan to visit my sister and my mom to finalize the Thanksgiving menu. Getting ready to spend a few days with the family stuffing ourselves with good food until we are absolutely miserable. "Tis the season".

The Weekend Is Over

It was another beautiful weekend. Saturday, we went to my dad's for a while for a visit and then we spent the rest of the day at my great nephew Jett's birthday party. Stroker and Gary hung a few pair of window blinds for my sister afterwords. We (Stroker, Devin, Brookelynn, and I) ended the day by going to El Tapatio (Mexican Restaurant) with my sister, brother-in-law, nephew, great nephew (Zander), and my nephew's fiance. It was late when we finally made it back home.  When we all got up Sunday morning, Devin was feeling energetic and went walking with me at the park. We only walked 2 miles; then headed home. Sunday was a good day to rest and spend quite time at home. It was beautiful outside so Stroker and I sat in the swing and watched the kids ride their bikes for a while.
Now the weekend is over and I am getting ready to take the kids to school and begin a brand new week.

Birthday Leftovers

Today, Brookelynn decided to do a little shopping with her gift cards and money that she received for her birthday. It's like Birthday leftovers. As if the house is not a wreck already, with boxes and beads and new toys strewn all over the place; today we add to the mess.
There is nothing left for this child to ask for when Christmas rolls around. She received everything on her list for her birthday. Some of the gifts Brookelynn received were...
  • Easy bake oven
  • jewelry box
  • jewelry making set
  • scrapbooking supplies
  • bicycle
  • baby dolls
  • ipod speakers
  • money
  • BAM gift card
  • TJ Max gift card
  • stuffed animals
  • Littlest Pet shop
  • 2 new book bags
  • "Word Wear" necklace making set
  • Build your own teddy bear
  • Barbie fishing pole
  • $50 Savings bond
...just to name a few.and of all the wonderful toys Brookelynn received for her Birthday, she settles down with one of her Junie B. Jones books that she picked out with her Books-a-Million gift card.

Paris, Heather, and Devin at Heather's graduation form MedVance

Had a busy afternoon today. Had to drive 20 miles to pick up Brookelynn's skull cake and cupcakes, then backtrack to pick up her treasure chest cake. From there, i hurried home to drop off the cakes and we rushed to Mildred's to celebrate B's birthday with dinner, cake, and ice cream. Had to drop Brookelynn off with my sister at 6:15 because Darlene always lets Brookelynn pick out her own birthday gift. At 6:30 we went to Heather's graduation. Tommorrow's schedule will be just as crazy.

Wednesday

Running Behind

The week is half over already :( I went to Nashville with Darlene on Monday and didn't get home till 7pm.
Tuesday, we went to drop off the candy that will garnish one of Brooke's birthday cakes, then to visit my great nephews and also eat dinner. We didn't get home till 9pm. Right now, Stroker is outside cleaning up his truck since we are supposed to have a few more days of sunshine.
I have got to get the decorations together and the menu planned for Brooke's birthday party, there are only two days left. I am running out of time. I did manage to get the cupcakes ordered to take to her class.
Tomorrow evening, we are planning to attend a graduation of my friend Heather, so I will not have any extra time to plan the party. I have got to get this thing together tonight.
