October 2018: Part 2

Another full house in our youth group Wednesday, October 17, 2018.
We were making deliveries on Saturday, October 20,2018 and my honey had to help get one of our customers roller chairs unstuck. He first thought the guy was just stuck a little, so he jokingly said "put that thing in 4 wheel drive", but turns out, it was really really stuck.
He got him unstuck finally.
We also witnessed a beautiful sunset that day.
We spent the later portion of October going back for Devin's post-op appointment on Wednesday, October 24.
We took a church trip to Autumn Acres on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

We got some pumpkins to decorate with, but they dogs thought they were new chew toys all week.
Lilly also thought our brand new water hose was a chew toy. She chewed it in half.  Then my husband made her wear it.
Bridgett and I went to cooking on the square on Friday, October 26, 2018.

It was also a day of celebration because Darlene is now 9 years CANCER FREE.

We went to dads to celebrate his birthday on Sunday, October 28, 2018. I thank God that I still have my daddy.

My husband and I attended the annual Rising Above Dinner Banquet on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
before the dinner, we had to clear everything for the patio installers because our addition was supposed to start the next morning.

I had a doctors appointment on Halloween.  It was no "treat either".
I don't know why I scheduled a Halloween doctor appointment of all days.
The patio paver installers showed up to start our new patio addition.
We joined our church for a little "Trunk-or-treat" festivities before making our pick ups. Rain tried to set in 8:30pm, but God is so good. None of our stuff got wet.

October 2018:Devin's doctor, my Dermabrasion, & Dollywood

October, by default is ALWAYS a busy month at the Hayes House. With the autumn season in full swing, seems like barn sales, fall festivals, Hallelujah parties, fall school events and everything else consumes us.
This year we had the additional commitment of Devin's "tumor" removal. It has been sitting silently on his shoulder blade for years. It grows ever so slightly until it is now starting to create an uncomfortable feeling.
We went to Crossville speak to Dr. Purgell about it on Monday, October 1, 2018.
The doctor agreed that it needed to come off.
Dr. Purgell was going to set up an appointment for surgery, but Devin asked "can you just take it off now?".
"Well'" said the doctor "it won't be as comfortable here as it would in a surgery room." Devin didn't care, he was ready for it to be gone today.
So...the doctor and the nurse got out the scalpel, the sutures, and the scissors to cut it out and then went to work at it.
It took about 45 minutes, but they got it.

It took a lot of stitches and left a sideways smiley face on his back.
Devin told me on the way home that he felt more pain from the aching a week ago than he felt while they were cutting it out.

Fast forward to Wednesday, October 3, 2018.  It was time for youth class and our was packed again.
The following week, all the talk was about Tropical Storm Michael. It came across on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
I had an appointment for a micro-dermabrasion on Friday, October 11. I always look forward to those. 💆‍♀️
We went to Dollywood on Saturday, October 13, 2018 with Georgi and Mary. We got there early and left late. We were exhausted.

We had a great day and the weather was nice too.

We were really wearing down at this point.
Can you tell we were all ready to go home and go to bed?

On Sunday, October 14, 2018, I got out riding around and drove by mine and Maleigha's home neighborhood. Oh how I miss the good 'ol days.

I also stopped by the store and found one of my most favorite things...
COUNT CHOCULA !!
