Holidays and Birthdays

Monday, February 18th was Presidents Day which means we all got to sleep in. Except Stroker, he had to go to work.  I got lots of stuff done around the house Monday and even cooked a roast for dinner. I almost felt like a wife and mom that day.
Stroker and I have also started a 30 minute walking routine these last couple of weeks to attempt to be a bit more healthy.
My tooth still ached all week as it has been since my appointment back on Feb. 5th. On Tuesday, I called the dentist to tell them that it had been hurting me and had not gotten better, but the receptionist told me that they couldn't get me in for a week, so she made me an appointment for next Tuesday. I replied "well, it's been hurting this long, I guess I can deal with the pain for another week"...Uuuuggghhh
Friday was my 37th birthday. I got lots of cards from family and  friends and some great gifts too. Maleigha and my sister posted it on facebook, which got some responses from people that I haven't even thought of in years. Stroker posted this photo on instagram and wished me a happy birthday.
HEY, I was all over the world wide web JACK! (That's a bit of Duck Dynasty humor there)
My co-workers brought in breakfast for an office party.
I received flowers, cards and gifts, but I think I already mentioned that.
To finish off my birthday, the tooth that has been bothering me for the past 3 weeks broke in half at 9pm. What a horrible ending to such a great day.

Sunday

Out with the Old

Sunday, February 10th was a rainy day. It consisted of church and naps. Monday night, 2/11/12, Stroker and I had dinner for two at Cheddar's after we completed our FAITH visits with our pastor. Over the next few weeks, we volunteered to visit and invite people to our Easter services at church.
Tuesday, Brookelynn and I met up with Darlene at the the Movies to see.
It was a great movie.
We sold our sectional couch on Tuesday, February 12th. Stroker is quite the salesman. He ended up selling the couch in person for $50 above what I had already agreed to take over the phone. Then, at the furniture store, the salesman told us that they couldn't give us the additional percentage off that they offered to other cash customers because the  couch we chose was already "on sale".  Stroker stepped up and told the salesman that we decided not to buy it if we can't have the additional % off.
The salesman left to "speak to the store manager" and returned to tell us that he could give us the discount. YAY!  Bottom line: Sold sectional and bought a brand new Living room suit for only $41.63 out of pocket. And it matches the walls better too. Win/Win
Brooke decided to bump up to two hours per week in gymnastics this week.
We made another trip to Alabama on Saturday February 16th to pick up the Castle Combo. On the way there, we passed this truck. What the heck required tires of that size?
Compare the tires that he is hauling to the tires on his semi.

Took a break at the rest stop

This is just a random collage that I made while playing with an App on my phone
On Sunday the 17th, we went to visit mom after church. Devin drove and we made it there safely.

Dental Drama followed by Road Trip

This is where you will find Devin most days. Right in front of his Playstation 3.
I finished knitting a pink and white scarf. I don't remember the brand of this yarn, but I will never use it for another scarf. It took for-ev-er!
I finally visited the dentist of February 5th to let him drill on a cavity that I have had for a couple of years. Dental visits make me more nervous now than they used to. After last February's oral surgery to remove my wisdom teeth, I am still a bit paranoid.
On Wednesday evening, we had a fellowship meal at church. Sometimes I make something complicated, that night, I just made homemade macaroni.
Thursday, February 7th, while Brooke attended her gymnastics, I attended a camera class to learn how to capture images in something other than the "auto" mode. I figured since I have had my camera for three and a half years, I should know how to take a picture in "manual" by now.
Although my tooth had been irritated since Tuesday's visit to the dentist, we journied over to the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga on Saturday the 9th.
We watched C.S. Lewis "The Screwtape Letters". We also ate at Famous Dave's for the first time while in Chattanooga and shopped for a bit at the mall.
The Tivoli is BEAUTIFUL. I wish we would have had time to take more photos of the theatre.
My hair is getting longer. This is the longest I have let it grow in the last fifteen years. No desire to chop it off just yet. I'm not sure why.
