Catch up

I had hoped to find time to do this a few days a week, but there just isnt enough hours in the day...We have all heard that before. Last weekend was Ansley's birthday so Brooke had a sleepover with her Friday and Saturday night. Cooper stayed over with us Friday night. He and Devin went to the high school football game. Saturday night was "date night" for me and Stroker and it sure was fun.
This week has been full of work and walking to sum it all up. I keep trying to get things caught up here at home. Not sure if that will ever happen either. No pictures for this post because I just dont have any time to take photos. I wonder what "bored" feels like?

Rainy Week

This week seems to be going by relatively quickly. There have been several pop up showers this week, but the forecast looks awesome for the weekend. Bucket is planning another "corn hole" tournament, but we are not gonna be available. We are planning "date night".

I caught the rain between showers today and went for a walk. My friend Heather came along. My husband has been craving spinach dip from Cheddars restaurant for the last couple of days, so that was the spot for dinner. Today's picture is of Brookelynn in front of the waterfall at Cheddar's.

Just Visiting

Woke up yesterday morning around 7:10 am and decided that I needed to catch up on some visiting. We went to daddy’s first; it was around 10am before we got there. He is all settled in his new house. Looks like the house is completely finished and the landscaping and hardscaping is underway. We talked to daddy and Phyllis for a couple of hours then we went to moms. Around 3:00 we went to Mildred’s ;Brooke and Paradise cooled off in the whale pool. It was hot out yesterday. Summer has been mild this year, right up till the last couple of weeks.
I also decided to cut all of my hair off yesterday…I get so tired of the entire blow drying and straightening process. It should be a lot less to deal with now.

Billy is 6

Wow...I did not realize that Billy is 6 years old. Stroker and I both thought he would be turning 5. Where does the time go? Stroker, the kids, and I celebrated Billy's birthday with him today at his McDonald's party. Matt, Kelly, Mildred and Paradise were there too. It was great to get to see him again. He still loves cars and monster trucks... just the typical boy I guess.
I remember when he was 2 yrs. old, you could point out any car passing by and he could tell you the make of the vehicle. He would say..."Honda...Nissan...Chevy". I never once seen him get it wrong. He is so cute and smart. Today (at age 6) just beginning the 1st grade, he sat and read every word on every birthday card. It wasn't the typical reading you would get from a 6 year old, how they take their time and sound out every word. He read the cards like an adult...as if he had been reading for years. What a smart little boy.

The County Fair

We had been promising the kids all week that we would take them to the county fair one night. Well, tonight was the night and boy are we tired. We have trudged around that midway for the last four and a half hours. The kids had a great time…they would still be there had Stroker & I not insisted on heading home. There were several of us that met up and walked around together. Stroker and I took Devin and Brooke; Heather and Paris rode with us as well. When we arrived we parked next to B, Mildred, Nan, and Paradise. Keith, Heather, and Aysiah arrived soon after. Then we found Matt, Kelly, and Jaiden. Talk about a family outing…we almost had the whole crew. Below are photos of the kids enjoying the rides.

How Cletus Got His Groom Back :)

Cletus is fresh from the groomers and boy was he overdue. This must be his lucky week. A new dog house and a fresh groom.

I think he likes his new look...he appears to be laughing in the photo.

I didnt get a chance to blog yesterday (Wednesday August 12, 2009), but I do want to take this oppertunity to catch you up.
Paradise visited a couple of hours in the evening. Brooke snapped a couple of pictures of herself and Paradise while she visited. Brooke is quite the photographer...she takes pictures all the time.

Cletus has shelter...

We bought Cletus a new dog house today. As he gets older he seems to get more and more nervous in storms. This should help him feel much more safe. Hopefully he will use it LOL :) He seems to take interest, as you can see from the photo.

A Day to Rest

Today was one of those very rare days when we had nothing scheduled. Wow...it was great. Since we got in late last night and didn't get to bed till 1:00 am , we didn't get out of the bed till 10:00 am this morning. Ate breakfast at IHOP and rode around a little while. We went to Mildred's (my mother-in-law) and ate dinner. Devin could not wait to get home to check out the pre season Titan's game. No photo to post today :(

Past our bedtime

It's past our bedtime...even for a Saturday night.

Today was the cookout and "cornhole tournament" with family (and friends). It was a lot of fun. A few of us sat up till midnight playing "Uno".

Today I decided to finally start my blog. I have been thinking about starting this for a while now.
